Medical Office Receptionist
We are looking for a reliable full-time Medical Office Receptionist for our busy and growing behavioral health services. Our office is pleasant and comfortable, and you will be working with a caring team of friendly and supportive staff and providers. The Medical Receptionist/Program Support Assistant will greet patients, enter and edit patient information, accept and post payments, and notify providers when their patients have arrived.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Welcomes patients and visitors. Answers phone, takes messages, or refers questions to other staff members

Schedules patient appointments with the physicians, physician assistants, and therapists, utilizing our practice management software.

Scans new patient records/forms to appropriate electronic charts.

Manages flow of appointments, notifying provider of patient arrival.

Assists patients as needed. Telephones taxis or family members when requested for transportation.

Maintains reception and waiting areas in a neat and orderly condition.

Requests and accepts payments for co-pays and payments on account.

Assists providers whenever needed.

Participates in emergencies when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed.

Excellent communication and organizational skills and accuracy.

Professional appearance and behavior, with the ability to remain calm in busy setting.

Basic office skills such as typing and electronic filing using good spelling and grammar.

Comfortable with computers and enjoys learning to use new programs.

Ability and willingness to develop competence with MicroMD Practice Management and EMR.

Willingness to cross-train with co-workers.
Education and Experience:
-
Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.
-
High school graduate or equivalent required.

Medical office experience preferred, salary commensurate on experience and training.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
